In this brief post I would like to share the importance of a theme when shooting food. Saying this, the idea of consistency throughout any series of photographs is what separates it from a bunch of unplanned shots. In this case my client spent a lot of time planning the opening of their restaurant and would like it to reflect in their images. Especially if the food is meant for a menu or promotional material with the purpose to represent the restaurant itself.
The 1st Season is a new restaurant in Shanghai and I had the pleasure to photograph the food as well as interior of the restaurant. My first thought as I visited the venue for the first time was how to set up my table top studio to light and create an image so to compliment the rest of the interior.
